(jiří macek) At Maison & Objet in Paris, the Spanish porcelain factory of Lladró presented new pieces designed by Hayón and a collection designed by its own studio. Its key figures are parrots.
The collection is the result of the new studio, headed by Jaime Hayón, which conceived a space that enables designers of this renowned brand to discover new experience from the work with porcelain. The collection, entitled the Parrots Party, contains the typical features of Lladró production based on perfect craftsmanship of decoration and Hayón’s lightness and humor. Feathers of various parrot species turn into candlesticks, vases, mirrors, and hangers, which become part of their flight. Figurative porcelain that seemingly belongs to the past has recently appeared in the form of contemporary stories in the portfolio of many brands. However, the Lladró version retains the unequivocal poetics of the brand. The Parrots Party collection is the result of the brand’s workshop in Valencia. It is really beautiful.
