Denisa Nová: To Open Designblok

(jana zielinski) Denisa Nová had a very eventful autumn. Last week, she presented the Avon U by Ungaro Fashion Symphony collection in the Municipal House in Prague. She is preparing a fashion performance and a presentation of her new collection in the D’Angolo restaurant on September 29. The top designs of the season will be present at her fashion show during the gala opening of the 10th year of Designblok and Fashion Week. It’s no wonder. She won the award for Fashion Designer of the Year in 2007 at Czech Grand Design in February.

The collection that Denisa Nová presented in the Municipal House consisted of special models designed on the occasion of launching the new Avon U by Ungaro perfume. This perfume was made in collaboration with Parisian fashion house Emanuel Ungaro. Apart from Denisa Nová, visitors can also see a collection by Boris Hanečka. Jana Kirschner opened the fashion show in the role of a model. World-renown model Daniela Peštová was the highlight of the show; coincidentally, she handed the award to Denisa Nová at Czech Grand Design.
The collection for U by Ungaro is dreamy and on the margin of wearability in Denisa Nová’s opinion. It is dominated by pink colors, flowers, femininity, and delicacy – it embodies fragrance. On the contrary, the autumn collection is very sober, almost primitive in Denisa Nová’s opinion, and dominated by the color black. The designer examines her client, the woman who will wear her collection, and presents an artful simplicity with perfect details. The only decoration is sometimes the printing.
