(jiří macek) Whilst Prague witnessed the opening of the new edition of the Křehký exhibition, entitled the Micro-World of Joy, The Emotional Landscape of the Křehký exhibition, which had its premiere two years ago, became the feat of the season in the Carriage Works Gallery in the Australian city of Sydney. The landscape, with a luminous cloud designed by Maxim Velčovský, was complemented with a nebula designed by Jiří Pelcl.
The phosphorescent nebula, which consists of glasses placed on thin long legs, represents a springboard for a cosmic flight in a generously designed space. Thus, the landscape, containing a newly enriched selection of objects from the Křehký collection, has turned into a dreamy and ghostly landscape, a mirage, a memory. The Emotional Landscape of the Křehký collection presents itself in a different version each time under the name of Tour de Křehký. This time, it has reached the furthest destination on its tour. After its presentations at trade fairs, such as Design Week in Milan, ICCF in New York, 100% Design in Tokyo, and after stops in galleries in Brussels and Lille, the last destination on the schedule will be at the BWA gallery in the Polish city of Wroclaw. Visitors will have an opportunity to see it until December. The emotional landscape of Czech design will thus transform into a Christmas landscape and come closer to the landscape that served as its model – the Jizerské Mountains, the Krkonoše, and the region of Kokořín.
The exhibition entitled Křehký: The Micro-World of Joy can be seen in the Window Gallery and in the Česká spořitelna Gallery until November 13. More news will follow.
