(jana zielinski) If you are a lover of books, then the design of The Five Tibetans, An Enchiridion of a Gymnast will be a sight for sore eyes. Jan Augusta, a graduate from the Studio of Typography at the AAAD in Prague that is led by Karel Haloun, has made a book in which wittily drawn figures will illustratively show readers individual exercises. Readers only have to pull a pointer and can immediately see the exercise.
Moving illustrations and hand-made paper really get along well. Unfortunately, because it is very expensive to produce such a book, we will probably not live to see it on the market any time soon. However, one can order a hand-made copy from its author. Apart from the book, Jan Augusta also had the figures cast in porcelain and made a very nice websitepettibetanu.cz. His diploma work can be seen at the exhibition of diploma works at the AAAD, náměstí Jana Palacha 80.
