(jiří macek) Ever since we first saw them at the Milan fair, we have wanted to present you the set of chairs from Tropicalia that was designed by Patricia Urquiola for the Italian manufacturer Moroso. Nevertheless, we have waited for the right moment. After our soccer team was defeated in the European Championships, we all have time to relax and recharge our batteries.
Patricia Urquiola and Moroso really get along very well. Both of them say so. The products created during their collaboration are the biggest proof. The project they teamed up on was the set of chairs from Tropicalia with different materials woven onto a steel frame. The shape results from the form of the Antibody deck chair. Patricia has made a wide range of seating furniture from it: a chair, an armchair, a chaise longue, an outdoor chaise longue, and a royal garden nest. Since summer is in the air, let us play with the woven materials that are reminiscent of the 70s and rattan furniture. If it gets cold outside, you can nest on the terrace with a fur until dawn. The chaises longue work well indoors as well.
Speaking of weaving materials onto frames, did you use to weave color wires into your bicycle wheels when you were a kid? I know I did. The bicycle looked more like a jet. Patricia may have done that as well. The color version of Tropicalia is very, very chic. Relax and do not forget to tekutiny.
Moroso is represented in the Czech Republic by Konsepti.
