Jerry Koza: Wooden Vibrations

(jiří macek) The wooden Tonda handlebars implemented in Ton not only develop the local tradition of wood bending, which originated the Thonet chair, but also introduce an unexpectedly friendly t-o-n-e into the world of biking, which only wood is able to provide to sports. Surfers can tell you about it.   ...more

Olgoj Chorchoj: Meadows and Sledges

(jiří macek) The magical snow-white installation in the form of a gigantic U-ramp with which the company of Ton presented itself at Designblok would probably have been just a beautiful mannerism if there had not been a very unusual product standing next to the collection of new chairs – a charming sledge designed by Olgoj Chorchoj.   ...more

Lucie Koldová, Dan Yeffet: The Test

(jiří macek) Two collaborators from the Paris-based studio of Arik Levy, Lucie Koldová and Dan Yeffet, presented their first joint Connection collection at Designblok in Prague. There were inspirational lines running across Europe among the lights, tables, and shelves, which emanated simplicity and peace in the result.   ...more

(jiří macek) A simple name, a simple recipe, a perfect result. Martino Gamper has designed an unforgettable chair for Established and Sons. The multiplication of simple bent elements presents another great story on the theme of chairs.   ...more

Mats Theselius: Hermit’s Cabins

(jiří macek) Although the lot-produced cabin represents a very boring solution for relaxation in a Czech gardening colony, one can see many designs in Scandinavia that will take his/her breath away. One of the first ones is the Hermit’s Cabin, the prototype of which was designed by Mats Theselius in 1999.   ...more

Richard Wood, Sebastian Wrong: Illusion

(jiří macek) I really like the WrongWoods dresser with a pop-art picture of wood in place of veneer, especially its wild combination of violet and yellow. The wood, which is in fact only particleboard, is full of passion. In the meantime, Richard Wood and Sebastian Wrong have complemented the catalogue of Established and Sons with similarly illusive chairs, sofas, and carpets made from bricks and parquets. However, one can never be sure.   ...more

Sebastian Wrong: Harmony

(jiří macek) Sometimes a person hears a tune out of the window when time, the sun, and the wind come together at the right moment that causes its intensity to remain impressed in their mind forever. It is so simple with things as well. The chairs designed by Sebastian Wrong for the brand of Established and Sons have the sun, wind, and time in balance. They are light, simple, and beautiful.   ...more

Leoni Werle: The Symbiosis of Light and a Table

(jiří macek) At times, one does not need much in life. Just a table and a lamp can make everything else seem to vanish. The Heimleicht lamp delimits a furtive microcosm from the world – one reader, two people, one man, and a mosquito. No matter where the Heimleicht lamp is located, one immediately feels at home.   ...more
